We first took participated in Dublin Marathon back in 2015 and it has been one of our favourites ever since, we even took part in it virtually during the pandemic in 2020.

Dublin were one of the first city marathons in Europe to provide entry for assisted wheelchair users.  Since we first contacted them about taking part, Jim Aughney and his team have gone above and beyond to support us.  Always making us feel welcome and fully embracing inclusitvity.

"On behalf of the Dublin Marathon team, we're delighted to announce that Team Kerr will be awarded the 2016 Lord Mayor's Medal as part of the Marathon celebrations taking place this Sunday.

Team Kerr is made up of David, Sandra and their son Aaron who suffers from Cerebral Palsy. As a family, they have pioneered assisted chair running by pushing Aaron across the course while also highlighting that they're 'Running & Rolling Together' and reinforcing the need for inclusion. Since making their Marathon debut at the Walled City Marathon in Derry, they'll now be celebrating their 25th Marathon in Dublin this Sunday and we can't wait to be part of the journey with them. They are an inspiration to everyone & we look forward to awarding them with this medal on Sunday. Congratulations Team Kerr - well deserved".
