running and rolling together

Comber parkrun consists of 4 laps of a figure of 8 course - on paper this sounded quite repetitive but we were pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it was.  There is plenty of parking in Comber Rec grounds (or in an additional public car park just before the grounds). The Rec clubhouse is open for toilets/changing and post run scanning and refreshments. This is one of the most friendly parkruns I've ever been too - everyone takes time to chat to each before, after & during the run, there is lots of encouragement at the bridge & cross over point of the '8' and the compact nature of the course means you are always close to other people so no lonely / isolated stretches. The surface is mostly tarmac paths with some more bumpy gravel sections. There are a few twists and turns on each lap which require a bit of effort steering but we had no problems fitting through the bollards or the centre post at either end of the bridge (though the event director might have slightly sore toes from getting too close to us during one tight turn!). It is a fairly flat, fast course around very pleasant green space, through trees, crossing back and forth over the river etc. A good run to do with a buggy as well as being welcoming and enjoyable. This is a parkrun that we would certainly return to another time.
