team kerr

Beautiful setting, plenty of parking and easy to identify start point just above the carpark. The toilets are in the main building, not too far from carpark.

This is a tough but lovely course. There seem to be approx 100 runners each week.  The run director’s briefing is held at the start line and the run starts on the tarmac in a wide open space so we didn't feel cramped or worried about bumping into others.  There is a slight climb on the tarmac then into a  lovely wooded area where the run weaves through clearly marked paths but over a rough surface.  Once out of the wood there are gravel paths through open green space – there is one fast down hill with a sharp left turn at bottom (Ben loved this!), followed by some fairly flat paths, two climbs - one pretty hard going - then repeat!  We did not encounter any significant hazards in terms of kerbs, bollards, bins etc., just one turn through an opening in a fence that is little narrow.  There was super encouragement throughout and this seemed to be a very inclusive, disability-aware parkrun group. The hills might mean there aren’t too many folk pushing running joggers here but it is a great challenge at a really lovely parkrun.
