After completing Dublin City Marathon 2016 we were delighted to be presented our 25 Marathon Award from Marathon Club Ireland Chairperson Ray O'Connor.

OCTOBER 2016

Our good friends Tena & Rochelle, who have joined us on lots of our marathons throughout our challenge presented us with a beautiful gift to commemorate the event.

Every year Dublin City Marathon presents the Lord Mayors Medal to one runner who has either overcome incredible odds to take part in the marathon or has an inspiring story fueling their marathon journey.
We were honoured to be chosen as this years recipient, and it meant even more knowing that we had been nominated by our fellow runners.  It was an incredibly proud moment for us as parents when Aaron was presented with his medal.

At Dublin City Marathon on 30/10/16 we completed our 25 Marathon Challenge.  And were joined by friends who had supported us throughout the 17 months it took to complete.

On the 16th we travelled to Fermanagh for the Oisin Mcgrath Foundation 5/10k. The story behind this race touched our hearts because young Oisin tragically died in 2015 and his organs were donated enabling numerous lives to be saved. With Aaron's kidney transplant anniversary this week we wanted to support this foundation that raises awareness of organ donation.
We received a very warm welcome from Oisin's parents Nigel and Sharon and were presented with a lovely gift from them at the finish.

On Saturday 1st October 2016 we were honoured to be joined at Run Galway Bay Marathon by Team Noah (Robert, Henriette and Noah), who traveled all the way from Holland to take part.

This family are the pioneers of assisted running in the Netherlands and are working very hard to promote inclusion and break down barriers.
